Its that time of year again…Time to be safe that is

I know I have already posted this once this year but I do feel that it is worth another mention. Black friday is tomorrow and cyber monday is right around the corner. With that being said this is the time that online predators are looking to have fun at your expense,But before they get the chance to have fun I would like to remind you all of some tips that will help you stay safe and secure while enjoying this buying season. Tip one ALWAYS buy from known reputable sites if possible. You can always trust a reputable site to be safe and secure. Tip two If buying from a site that you are new too do some research first. What I mean by research is before hitting check out do some clicking around and see if you can find any evidence that would make you feel insecure about buying from the retailer. TIp three keep a close eye on prices and bank accounts to ensure that you are the only one making purchases in your name. The best way to do this is to check your accounts online some where between 2 and 3 times a week. If you follow all these steps you have a much better chance of staying safe this holiday shopping season.

Will you partake in the online buying season? what are your favorite sites to buy from?

As always thanks for reading. if you are new to this blog please feel free to check out the about me page for more about who I am and what I do.

The importance of computer updates

Many people don’t understand the harm done to their computer by not allowing updates to be installed. In this article, I will share a few of the risks that can come with not updating your computer on a regular basis.

Updating your computer is like a human going to visit the doctor. The doctor will run various tests and such to make sure that his patient is healthy and well. Computer updates are very much like that. They help keep your computer in top-notch condition by going through and testing the file systems that your computer is built on. If there are any weaknesses, the updates will fix them.

Another thing that updates can do is keep viruses and other malicious software off your computer. If your immune system is weak, you may not be able to notice it until you contract an illness. By going to the doctor regularly, he may be able to diagnose something very early on. This works just like a computer update. The update will help strengthen the file system and make it less susceptible to a virus or attack.

Frequently updating your computer can also Help prevent you from being hacked by an outside person or program. Being Hacked is pretty serious, Hackers will look for anything from address books stored on your computer to credit card numbers. They will then use the information they have gained in negative ways either by spamming your friends or racking up purchases on your credit card. If you make sure to keep your computer up to date you will increase the strength of your computers security and weaken the chances of being hacked.

I am not saying that all updates are absolutely crucial and need to be done right away. With Windows, you can bring up the box that tells you about the updates and see every individual one that is being recommended. Let’s say you have an update for Adobe Photoshop and a Windows Security update, but you only have time to install one. You would definitely want to run the Windows Security update because that applies to the whole operating system, and not just one sole program. The Photoshop update can be run whenever you have the time, it is not the most important choice. I hope this helps you to better understand the world of computer updates and what they are all about.

How often fo you run updates on your computer?
